evol's PoemOfTheWeekONE:
Welcome to the first installment. Today you will be hearing the poem Rhythm of the Normal Days as Performed by evoljen. The words are included here:
never thought my life would be this normal
this predictable
i'm hoping it's a phase
i'm hoping i haven't reached the 'that's all there is?' phase
i hate mondays like everyone
like that girl that bob geldof sings about
in that boomtown rats song
tell me why
i don't like mondays
When Wednesday ends I'm a little giddy.
Anticipating the last part of the week which is always more cheerful than the beginning
because there's less time left til we all get a short break
because everyone is working for the weekend
that loverboy song is true
(and i can't tell you how much it pains me to admit that)
and then it's friday and everyone you talk to is like
oh it's friday, i'm in a good mood (because i only have to put up with this for a little while longer)
not that work is bad, work is just that thing that they pay you for and that's why they call it work
it's not play time
and the weekend comes and i feel a short burst of Relief
but then it goes flat
my friend mahtab calls is a problem of the middle class
i'm just a little too comfortable
i'm just a little too lazy
to strive
for more
so for now
i am settling in
to the rhythm of
the normal days
